Description

The Phulara Ridge Trek is a stunning trek in the Sankri range of Uttarakhand. The trek displays some of the most glorious sights in the Himalayas with a spectacular ridge walk almost throughout the trek. The panoramic views you get because of the ridge walk is awe-inspiring and makes you wanting for more and more. The eye-catching meadows of Pushtara are one of the many highlights of this trek. The trek is ideal for both beginners and experienced trekkers alike who wish to explore the unmatched beauty of the Sankri range and also enjoy a trek that stands out from all others. Itinerary

Arrive at Sankri. If you opt for transportation from us then we will assemble early morning (7 AM) in Dehradun and drive towards Sankri. Overnight in guest house/hotel in Sankri. Sankri is a small village in Uttarakhand located at a distance of 180 km from Dehradun. When it comes to trekking In India Sankri is quite a popular trailhead as a lot of treks starts from here like - Har Ki Dun, Bali pass, Borasu Pass, Ruinsara Tal, Bharadsar lake. If you reach early - go for some bird watching.

We start our trek from Sankri with the initial ascent taking you through a lovely pine forest. You will be able to see a variety of birds on the trail. After a couple of clearings, you get the first glimpse of Phulara ridge. Thet rail takes you through deodar trees followed by a ridge to your right while the snow-capped peaks stand tall and mighty to the left. Followed by an hour more of walk through a patch of colorful flowers takes you to the third clearing which is the Sikolta campsite. Overnight in tents.

About 30 mins steep ascent from the Sikolta campsite takes you darkand dense forest. The trail takes you to a big clearing where the grass is studded with pretty flowers. The tree line declines and you get to see the lovely Kedarkantha peak to the right. The trail takes you to a lovely meadow with bhoj trees. The Dhunda Top is the highest point followed by a winding trail to the campsite. Overnight in tents.

You can see the top of Phulara ridge from the campsite. From here it takes about an hour to reach the top of the ridge. As you walk on the ridge you get to see the snowcapped mountains on either sides moving with you. Bandarpoonch, Kalanag, Swargarohini, Baraadsar Peak, Ranglana, Devkyara valley, Lekha Top, Vijay Top, Kedarkantha, etc. The trail descents down and you cross the valley to reach the stunning meadows of Pushtara which will be our campsite for the night. Overnight in tents.

The trail descends down to Taluka. The tree line becomes dense with pretty flowers complementing the sight. You eventually reach the forest. Once you reach the Taluka village you get to see the trail leading to Har ki Dun valley. Our vehicles will drive you from Taluka to Sankri. Overnight in guesthouse.

Depart Sankri and expect to reach Dehradun by evening.

How to reach

Take a flight to Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, Hire a cab to reach Dehradun City as the airport is 29 km away.

The Dehradun railway station is located in the centre of the city which is well connected to all the major cities of the country.

Dehradun is easily accessible from major cities of the country as it has an excellent road connectivity with other major cities and towns of North India. There are state-run and private buses that offer a regular service.
